A gate appears in Tokyo's Ginza district sometime in the 21st century. From the gate pours out monsters, knights from middle-age Europe, and other fantasy-like beings, and they kill many of the citizens of Tokyo. This event is known as the Ginza Incident. The government sends a small group of soldiers from the Japanese Self-Defense Forces to the alternate world beyond the gate. Led by otaku soldier Yōji, they find that the villages in the world are being attacked by a dragon. An elf girl who is a survivor from the dragon's rampage joins the group in their travels across the dangerous new world.

Steins;Gate 0 (Japanese: シュタインズ・ゲート ゼロ, Hepburn: Shutainzu Gēto Zero) is an anime television series created by White Fox based on 5pb.'s 2015 video game of the same name, and is part of the Science Adventure franchise. The series is a sequel to the 2011 anime series Steins;Gate, and began airing in April 2018. It is set in an alternative future where the university student Rintaro Okabe, traumatized after his experiences with time travel, meets the neuroscientists Maho Hiyajo and Alexis Leskinen and becomes a tester for their artificial intelligence system Amadeus. The series is directed by Kenichi Kawamura, and written by Jukki Hanada, who also wrote the first Steins;Gate anime; the voice cast from previous Steins;Gate anime and games also reprise their roles. The series is being simulcast by Crunchyroll and Aniplus Asia, and an English dub is streamed by Funimation in North America and the British Isles.
